Position Summary:
Lumileds is seeking a highly-qualified Program Manager responsible for coordinating successful launch into production & volume ramp of LED products and/or technologies. Scope of effort is worldwide / multi-regional, and spans multiple functions across the corporation. The position requires a technically grounded individual with a broad-based and varied skill set / experience, with priority on communication, multi-tasking, and issue resolution.
What You Will Do:
- Program management encompassing internal functional groups, suppliers & supply chain partners, and customer(s) on an international scope.
- Significant involvement with customers, product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and other functional groups for purpose of scheduling and issues comprehension & resolution
- Define, document, & communicate the critical path, timeline, issues lists.
- Chair cross-functional meetings to drive milestones – typically spanning multiple locations / geographic regions.
- Weekly status publication including risk assessment, risk mitigation, path forward.
What You Will Bring (Required Qualifications):
- Strong experience in Program Management including broad scope international, multi-tier supply chain programs.
- Demonstrated capability with both technical and logistical risk assessment & risk mitigation, critical path assessment and contingency planning, “forward vision” issues identification and avoidance planning.
- Proven ability to take decisive action and deliver tangible results in a fast-paced cross-functional organization and highly competitive industry.
- Excellent internal and external communication & interpersonal skills; experience developing and delivering executive level & customer presentations.
- Vision to enable the drive to solutions - "what does it take?" compared to "is it possible?"
- Experience with product development, R&D and high-volume operations in components for consumer electronics industry is desirable.
- PMP certification highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will have experience and demonstrated accomplishment in the following:
- Product Development responsibility, from early concept, through design & development, NPI/transfer to manufacturing, volume ramp up, yield stabilization & improvement, end-of-life planning (on-order/on-hand/WIP dispositioning).
- Component piece part development experience - drawings, specification, qualification, documentation related to vendor/subcon operations.
- DFx experience - Design For Assembly, DFQuality, DFManufacturability, DFTest, DFCost.
- BOM & engineering change notice responsibility.
- Reliability testing & qualification.
- Cost model experience.
- Manufacturing process development experience - parameters of significance, typical document types, industrial engineering fundamentals, etc.
- Manufacturing experience across product and process types (not singular focus), "dock to stock" (from incoming materials through finished goods inventorying).
- Hands-on experience leading manufacturing process transfer activities across an international landscape.
- Semiconductor manufacturing process familiarity.
- NPI materials coordination experience.
- Product development process / product creation process (PCP) comprehensive understanding - lifecycle phases, phase gate review elements, etc.
- Tools & equipment specification, bid, development, run-off/buy-off & qualification, customer siting, customer acceptance process familiarity.
- Customer interface & conflict resolution, supplier interface & development experience.
- Quality systems familiarity.
- IT enterprise systems & applications and their relationship to product development.
- Cross-cultural, cross-functional responsibilities & experience, both local & global.
- Superior communication and team building skills with demonstrated results.
Education (Minimum Level)
Field of Study
- BS Degree in Electronics, Optics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, Masters or MBA a plus.
