As a GIS Intern, you will support the development of renewable energy projects by leveraging geospatial data and GIS technologies. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in spatial analysis, mapping, data visualization, and site assessment while working closely with multidisciplinary teams across the business. You will be exposed to real-world applications of GIS in the clean energy sector and contribute to projects that support sustainable energy solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the collection, cleaning, and management of geospatial data for renewable energy projects.
  • Prepare GIS deliverables, including web maps, layouts, visualisations, and project documentation.
  • Assist in site selection and feasibility assessments using GIS tools and spatial datasets.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand data requirements and provide GIS insights for decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to GIS standards, workflows, and data management practices.
  • Contribute to ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing data capabilities and project outcomes.
  • Provide support across various GIS-related projects and activities as required.


Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geoscience, Geomatics, Geography, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge and hands-on exposure to ArcGIS through academic coursework, projects, internships, or training.
  • Understanding of GIS concepts, geospatial data management, coordinate systems, and spatial analysis.
  • Familiarity with geospatial data processing, data creation, and data visualisation.
  • Knowledge of QGIS or other GIS-related software will be an added advantage.
