Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience in palm oil mill operations, Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) treatment systems, biogas/biomethane plants, or similar industrial process environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of plant equipment operations, including rotating machinery, pumps, blowers, compressors, and process control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Familiarity with industrial instrumentation, control panels, and SCADA/PLC-based monitoring and control systems.
• Good understanding of maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements related to palm oil mill and biogas operations.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations and maintenance teams.
• Willingness to work in a plantation-based industrial environment and respond to operational requirements as needed.

Job Description / Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain biomethane/biogas plant systems integrated with the Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) treatment process to ensure stable and efficient operations.
• Ensure continuous and reliable plant performance to achieve optimal biomethane production and overall system efficiency.
• Monitor, record, and analyze operational parameters and plant performance data to ensure compliance with operational targets.
• Ensure biomethane production meets or exceeds the minimum supply volume as stipulated in the Gas Purchase Agreement (GPA).
• Ensure biomethane gas quality consistently complies with specifications and standards defined in the GPA.
• Conduct routine inspections and operational checks on key plant equipment, including digesters, gas upgrading systems, compressors, pumps, and supporting utilities.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve operational issues and prevent recurrence.
• Implement and support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Ensure all plant operations comply with applicable regulatory requirements, environmental standards, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Coordinate closely with palm oil mill operations, maintenance teams, and external contractors to ensure seamless integration between POME treatment and biogas production processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date operational logs, maintenance records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, safety performance, and environmental sustainability.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or immediate superior to support overall plant operations.
