Role Summary
Responsible for end-to-end management of sheet metal fabrication projects, ensuring successful execution from design review and material planning to production, quality control, and on-time delivery. Acts as the key liaison between engineering, production, suppliers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple fabrication projects, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and BOMs for manufacturability.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare and monitor project schedules, work orders, and production plans.
- Support CAD/CAM teams in developing fabrication drawings and nesting layouts.
- Apply DFM principles for sheet metal processes including cutting, bending, welding, punching, and forming.
- Monitor shop-floor activities, machine scheduling, and production progress.
- Resolve technical and production issues, minimizing delays and material wastage.
- Liaise with customers and vendors on technical requirements, project updates, and outsourced processes.
- Prepare project status reports and ensure quality and delivery targets are met.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 3–6 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, heavy engineering, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication methods.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOMs.
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM, nesting software, and Trumpf machines is an advantage.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
