PROJECT ENGINEER (NPI / TOOLING / PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDING & EMS)
We are seeking dynamic and committed talents to join our organization as Project Engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI), tooling development, project commercialization, and mass production readiness activities.
Candidates with experience in Plastic Injection Molding, Tooling, EMS, Medical Devices, Consumer Electronics, or Precision Manufacturing industries will have added advantage.
Scope of Work:
· Lead and coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from project kick-off until mass production
handover.
· Review customer requirements including 2D drawings, 3D data, specifications, BOM, cosmetic requirements, and engineering changes.
· Conduct DFM review, feasibility study, and technical discussion with customers, tooling makers, vendors, and internal teams.
· Coordinate tooling fabrication, mold modification, mold qualification, and validation activities.
· Create item master and update BOM using SAP system.
· Participate in mold trials, process optimization, troubleshooting, and scientific molding activities.
· Work closely with Tooling, QA, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Vendors to ensure project milestones are achieved.
· Monitor project timeline, action items, qualification status, and customer deliverables to ensure on-time project execution.
· Prepare and maintain project documentation including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow, DOE, Validation Reports, FAI, CPK, and related engineering documents.
· Coordinate sample submission, qualification builds, pilot runs, and customer approvals.
· Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and technical problem-solving during development and production stages.
· Coordinate secondary processes including printing, painting, laser marking, ultrasonic welding, assembly, and packaging requirements.
· Support automation/jig/fixture readiness and manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
· Ensure smooth project handover to production with proper documentation and process readiness.
· Provide regular project updates to customers and internal management teams.
Requirements:
· Candidate must possess at least a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Material Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
· Minimum 3–5 years working experience in Project Engineering, NPI, Tooling, Plastic Injection Molding, EMS, or Manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, DOE, 8D, and statistical problem-solving methodologies.
· Familiar with injection molding processes, tooling development, DFM review, and manufacturing process validation.
· Experience in handling multinational customers and project coordination will be an added advantage.
· Good communication, technical discussion, project coordination, and reporting skills.
· Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capability.
· Able to work independently under tight project timelines and fast-paced environments.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge in CAD software and Minitab will have added advantage.
· Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement knowledge will be an added advantage.
· Willing to support customer meetings, tooling trials, and project activities when required.
· Experience in SAP system, BOM setup and item master
