Summary of the Role
We are looking for a hands-on and commercially driven Finance Manager to lead the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations for a growing business in Malaysia, with regional exposure across Southeast Asia.
This role will work closely with the General Manager as a key business partner, supporting strategic decision-making, driving financial visibility, and ensuring strong financial controls across the organization. The successful candidate will take ownership of the P&L, cash flow management, inventory performance, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, while supporting the business through its next phase of growth and operational transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting Operations
- Lead the full spectrum of finance and accounting activities, including monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and business performance analysis
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, and general ledger activities
- Oversee cash flow management, liquidity planning, and timely bank payments
- Maintain balance sheet integrity and ensure accurate P&L reporting
- Ensure proper financial record keeping, filing systems, and data confidentiality practices
- Monitor overall financial health and provide timely visibility on business performance
Business Partnering & Commercial Finance
- Work closely with the General Manager and business leaders to support operational and strategic decision-making
- Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning activities
- Drive proactive management reporting and business insights to support growth and profitability
- Lead inventory monitoring and planning activities to optimize stock levels and working capital management
- Support business stakeholders with financial analysis, recommendations, and performance tracking
- Handle ad-hoc and time-sensitive requests from regional and headquarters finance teams effectively
Compliance, Tax & Controlling
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, statutory requirements, and internal controls
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities and liaise with external consultants where required
- Ensure proper taxation treatment of financial transactions in accordance with Malaysian regulations
- Manage monthly tax filings and statutory submissions
- Support Transfer Pricing and Global Master File processes to ensure regulatory compliance
- Continuously strengthen finance controls, governance, and reporting processes
Systems & Process Improvement
- Support finance process enhancement and operational improvement initiatives
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external consultants on future SAP implementation and finance transformation projects
- Drive continuous improvements in reporting efficiency, finance SOPs, and workflow processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA) preferred
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial management, reporting, and controlling
- Strong hands-on experience in inventory management, P&L ownership, cash flow management, and budgeting
- Commercially minded with the ability to work closely with operational and business stakeholders
- Experience in Transfer Pricing and regional reporting exposure would be advantageous
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Proactive, hands-on, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
- Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, or distribution-driven industries would be advantageous
