A Document Controller in manufacturing ensures the accuracy, integrity, and controlled lifecycle of technical documentation, including drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and Quality/ISO procedures. They manage revisions, distribute latest documents to production, and maintain audit-ready records to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
- Document Lifecycle Management: Manage the creation, review, revision, distribution, and archival of engineering drawings, inspection plans, and procedures.
- Revision Control: Monitor and ensure that the latest revisions of drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing instructions are used, preventing the use of obsolete documents.
- System Administration: Use PLM/EPDM/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) to create part numbers and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Quality Compliance (ISO): Ensure all documentation adheres to internal quality standards and regulatory compliance requirements, preparing records for audits.
- Quality Documentation Tracking: Review and manage crucial technical documents such as Material Certificates (MC), Heat Treatment Reports, and NDT results.
- Distribution and Control: Distribute updated documents to the production floor and relevant departments
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in technical document control, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with engineering drawings, CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and manufacturing bills of materials.
- Software Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Attributes: High level of organization, extreme attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
