EV Automotive Technician – Job Scope

Position Summary
Responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and testing electric vehicles (EVs) while ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair work on electric vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect, test, and repair high-voltage battery systems, electric motors, inverters, and charging systems.
• Conduct battery health assessments and perform battery-related service procedures.
• Carry out software updates, system programming, calibration, and vehicle configuration as required.
• Inspect and repair EV charging components and charging-related issues.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and quality control checks on new vehicles.
• Follow high-voltage safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Complete repair orders, service reports, and technical documentation accurately and promptly.
• Support warranty repairs and prepare technical findings for warranty claims.
• Collaborate with technical support teams and follow manufacturer service manuals and repair guidelines.
• Maintain workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and a clean, safe working environment.
• Assist in identifying parts requirements and ensure proper handling of EV components.
• Provide technical explanations and recommendations to service advisors and customers when necessary.
• Participate in technical training programs to stay updated on EV technologies and industry developments.

Requirements

• Knowledge of EV systems, high-voltage safety, and automotive diagnostics.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and service equipment.
• Understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical vehicle systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,100.00 per month
