Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service Oversight (Market Hall & Secawan)

Serve as the first point of contact for escalated customer queries and concerns at both locations.

Conduct regular floor walkabouts at Market Hall to engage customers, resolve issues, and provide product or service information.

Ensure the Customer Care desk (if available) is manned and efficient, especially during peak hours.

Support and supervise the team’s adherence to service standards and responsiveness.

2. Secawan Café Frontline Support

Assist Secawan’s service team during peak periods by taking orders, serving food, and attending to customer needs.

Ensure café guests are attended to promptly and politely, even during rush hours.

Monitor queue management and dining area ambiance to maintain a comfortable guest experience.

3. Team Supervision & Training

Lead and support customer service assistants and frontline staff in both Market Hall and Secawan.

Provide on-the-job coaching and training on hospitality, problem-solving, and customer engagement.

Promote teamwork and motivate staff to consistently exceed customer expectations.

4. Feedback Management

Record, analyze, and report customer complaints, compliments, and suggestions to management.

Work with relevant departments to resolve recurring service issues.

Maintain a customer service log and track response/resolution times.

5. Service Standards & SOP Compliance

Uphold high standards of cleanliness, etiquette, and presentation across all customer service touchpoints.

Ensure both Market Hall and Secawan follow service SOPs, especially regarding customer handling and complaint resolution.

Conduct daily checks to ensure readiness of all customer-facing areas.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail frontline operations.

Experience leading small teams or supervising customer service functions is preferred.

Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English; additional languages are a plus.

Strong interpersonal skills, confidence, and a warm, approachable demeanor.

Able to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

Hands-on and willing to assist in day-to-day café or retail operations when needed.

Salary Range:

RM2,200 - RM2,500

Pasar Besar, Central Market (Pasar Seni)
