Responsibilities

• Ability to read drawings ie C&S, Shop, etc
• · Provide advice on planning a project's work packages
• · Convene and actively participate in clarification/progress meetings on site and off site
• · Reporting on the contractual status and its impact on cost budget and time schedule.
• · Examine all variation orders, extension of time and instruction made, certified or issue and ensures that these are in accordance with the contract advise the Management in respect thereof.
• · Advise the Management with regard to contractors request for variations and time extensions for the contract.
• · Provide advise on general issues and solutions to problem-related to contracts administration.
• · Provide directions on evaluation, negotiating and settling contractual claims.
• · To provide input during final accounts and completions of contract including valuation and negotiations of variations leading to settlement of the final accounts.
• · Responsible for company project claims and certificates from clients
• · Assist in cash flow monitoring
• · Prepare material schedules and deliveries and wastage control.
• · As built site measurement and taking off.

Requirements
- Degree in construction management or quantity surveying or engineering (C&S or M&E), architecture or related field

- Able to read drawings and specifications and understand other technical aspects of construction.

- Specialized in Engineering - Civil/Construction/Structural or equivalent.

- Preferably registered with BEM or IEM or Board of Surveyors (not compulsory)

- Proven working experience (10 years) in the related field is required for this position.

- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods

- Expert knowledge of building materials, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards

- Knowledge and understanding of building codes in Malaysia i.e. BS, MS, PAM, JKR contracts etc.

- Understanding of all facets of the construction process, read blueprints (drawings and specifications) and understand other technical aspects of construction.

- Familiarity with construction management software packages i.e., CPM, Microsoft Office / Project, ACAD, etc.

- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”

- Competent in conflict and crisis management

- Leadership and human resources management skills

- Excellent time and project management skills i.e. making sure that everything is on time and moving smoothly as deadlines are crucial

- Good writing and speaking skills when communicating with staff, subcontractors, writing proposals, procuring materials and dealing with clients.

- Able to conduct and handle on site and off site meeting with all levels of project team to provide accurate progress reporting and resolve any arising.
