Job Summary
An Account Assistant supports the accounting and finance department by handling administrative, financial, and clerical tasks. The role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, assisting with invoices and payments, and ensuring accurate documentation to support daily business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing financial documents such as invoices, bills, receipts, and purchase orders
- Maintain accurate accounting records and filing systems
- Process payments and track expenses
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
- Support payroll processing and employee expense claims
- Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal departments regarding account-related matters
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts
- Enter financial data into accounting software
- Assist senior accountants or finance managers with audits and budgeting activities
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Numerical and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in accounting or administrative support
- Familiarity with software such as QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or Xero
- Knowledge of taxation and financial regulations
