Summary:
The Human Resource Manager is responsible for ensuring effective implementation and compliance of Human Resource policies, procedures, and practices at Perdana University. The role supports the full spectrum of HR operations including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and HR administration. The incumbent works closely with the Group Human Resource Manager to align HR strategies with institutional and Group objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s is an advantage).
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience in a generalist or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws, HR practices, and industrial relations.
- Experience in recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and expatriate management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Prior experience in higher education or similar institutional environment is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, Employment Act, and relevant labour laws.
- Oversee daily HR operations and ensure efficient delivery of HR services across the University.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
- Ensure timely hiring to meet organisational manpower needs.
- Support employer branding and talent attraction initiatives.
- Handle employee relations and disciplinary matters in accordance with HR policies and legal requirements.
- Provide advice to management on IR/ER matters and ensure fair and consistent practices.
- Support resolution of workplace issues and grievances.
- Assist in reviewing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and reward structures.
- Support performance appraisal planning and implementation.
- Identify and coordinate training and development programmes in line with organisational needs and compliance requirements (e.g. ISO).
- Assist in preparing the HR department budget in coordination with the Finance Department.
- Manage employee benefits administration including insurance renewals and related schemes.
- Oversee payroll processing and HR administrative functions.
- Manage employment passes, work permits, teaching permits, and MOHE visa applications for staff.
- Prepare HR reports, management papers, and Board papers as required.
- Provide HR insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Liaise regularly with the Group Human Resource Manager on HR matters.
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
