About the role

Adept Construction & Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in managing project costs, budgets, and financial control across our construction and engineering projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, providing critical financial oversight and commercial expertise that directly impacts project profitability and client satisfaction. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction projects whilst contributing to the strategic financial management of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

1. Reviewing construction drawings and prepare quantities taking off

2. Preparing and managing project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts for construction project

3. Preparing tender documentation, bills of quantities, and contract specifications

4. Managing variations, claims, and contractual disputes with contractors and clients

5. Monitoring and controlling project costs throughout all project phases, including pre-contract, contract and post-contract stages

6. Liaising with project managers, clients, contractors and consultants to ensure cost control and commercial alignment

7. Preparing cost reports and financial statements for project stakeholders

8. Ensuring compliance with industry standards, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements

9. Participating in site inspections and meetings to monitor project progress and identify cost implications

10. Assisting in the procurement process and evaluating supplier quotations

What we're looking for

1. Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (Diploma or Degree level minimum)

2. Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

3. Competency in quantity surveying software, Glodon and Microsoft Office applications

4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
