About the Role
Manage day to day data centre service delivery with oversight on DC deliveries. Manage the service providers SLA in terms of service request. Monitoring of service level performance in accordance with contractual requirements. Analysis of data centre infrastructure components and capacity planning for future projects/growth.
Adhere to Client operation processes and procedure, aligned to the GEL group’s processes and standards (ITMP, ITSS, TSS etc). Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks. Maintain the awareness of industry trends on regulatory, compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company. Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively shares best risk management practices. Compliance to IT Work Processes. Maintain No. of IA Audits Rated Good & Satisfactory. Zero repeated audit findings and less than 3 Audit finding with high risk for the year. Contribution to improving IT’s Risk.
Responsibilities
- Data Centre Services Management: Manage day to day data center service delivery with oversight on vendor’s deliveries. Monitor the health of systems or platform solutions. Analysis of data center infrastructure components and capacity planning for future projects/growth. Work with the infrastructure teams to ensure 100% system uptime and availability. Analyze and execute improvement plans. Regularly review the service provider’s compliance to policies. Participate in planning exercises for Data Centre related matters.
- DC Power Assessment: To document the current power source to each rack. To determine if any STS is dormant, and can be removed to free up the power source. To label all Power Strip in the DC. To document all available power source from PDU.
- DC Asset Documentation: To perform Asset stock check with ITFVM and update ITHSHAM. All inventory records will be referred from there once this activity is completed. Two stock check in a year, first half and second half. To label all equipment with correct Asset Tag and hostname. To update Rack Utilization Document.
- Project Management: Project initiation, solution and approval paper preparation. Managing the project approval process from respective Business entities approval presentation to finance departments cost agreement and approval. Manage and lead project for critical infrastructure project from project initiation to completion of entire project. Prepare and manage timely project meetings and status reporting to PSC members and stakeholders. Ensure the managed projects are delivered on budget, time line and quality. Involve, advice and lead in key Data Centre Management initiatives to ensure successful and timely delivery.
- To manage and keep track of all Service agreement and contracts related to Data Centre and Office. To ensure all contracts signed are renewed accordingly before the expiration date.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
- Ensures all DC Related billings are managed with Finance team for payment.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or Diploma with Professional Certifications. At least 8 years relevant experience successfully managing data centre service delivery or platform solutions or IT systems implementation and integration.
Required Skills
- Experience working with multiple infrastructure teams, project teams (business, IT application and infrastructure teams).
- Excellent knowledge of various devices, brands and toolsets related to data centre management and patching.
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
- Experience in vendor management and vendor assessment review.
- Experience with audit requirement in regard to Data Centre.
