Role Description

• Understand the design and document database architecture

• Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security

• controlling access permissions and privileges

• developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans

• ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly

• working closely with IT project managers, application programmers and system architect

• Create shell scripts for task automation / unix cronjob

• Create, test and execute data management languages

• Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements

• Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency

• Monitor systems and platforms for availability

• Oversee backup, replication and failover

• Restore corrupted databases using backup

• Install, upgrades and patches

• Provide 24/7 support for critical situations


Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software / database development experience Oracle Database

• Experienced in Oracle Database infrastructure and architecture design, Oracle SOA Suite (BPM), Enterprise Manager

• Experienced in database optimization and performance tuning

• Experience with backup and restore, table space allocation/management, managing the overall health and status of the database, managing the database schema, creating triggers and stored procedures, monitoring the Oracle alert logs and resolving database-related issues.

• Must have experience in configuring 11g/12c/19c database in Linux

• Must have experience in configuring Oracle Dataguard/RMAN

• Must have experience with Oracle product troubleshooting and problem resolution

  • • Partake in meetings to give advice and recommendations
