About the role

Pembinaan Infrastruktur OKH Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Project / Site Engineer (Construction) to join our dynamic engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position based on-site, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing construction projects from inception through to completion. As a Project / Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are executed in accordance with design specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines. This position is fundamental to our operations, directly impacting project success, team coordination, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee daily construction activities on-site, ensuring work is carried out according to approved plans, specifications and quality standards

2. Conduct regular site inspections and monitoring to verify that construction progress aligns with project schedules and budgets

3. Manage and coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, and workers to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project requirements

4. Document site activities, including progress reports, daily logs, material records and photographic evidence for project documentation

5. Conduct quality assurance and quality control tests on materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with design and regulatory standards

6. Identify and resolve construction challenges and discrepancies, implementing corrective measures promptly

7. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and environmental regulations on-site, promoting a safe working culture

8. Liaise with project managers, architects, and clients to provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns

9. Prepare and maintain detailed site records, including as-built drawings, variation orders and compliance documentation

10. Assist in estimating and cost control by monitoring material usage and labour productivity

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering discipline

2. Professional engineering qualifications or registration (such as Professional Engineer status) is highly desirable

3. Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in construction project management or site engineering roles

4. Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, construction methodologies and building codes

5. Proficiency in construction management software, CAD applications and Microsoft Office suite

6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

7. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in technical documentation and site inspections

8. Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations applicable to construction projects in Malaysia

9. Ability to work independently on-site whilst collaborating effectively with senior management and project teams

10. Physical fitness and willingness to spend considerable time on construction sites in various weather conditions
