Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical & Electrical)

The Quantity Surveyor (M&E) is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of mechanical and electrical works in construction projects. This includes cost estimation, tender preparation, contract administration, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

• Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical and electrical works during tender and project execution stages for commercial buildings, residential developments, industrial facilities and specialised M&E systems.

• Tender Documentation: Develop bills of quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and evaluate subcontractor quotations.

• Contract Administration: Manage contracts, variations, claims, and payment certifications for M&E works.

• Budget Control: Monitor project costs, track expenditures, and provide financial reports to management.

• Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and ensure compliance with specifications.

• Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align cost control with project progress.

• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all M&E works meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

• Final Accounts: Prepare and settle final accounts for completed projects.

• Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in M&E Quantity Surveying within the construction industry involving mechanical systems (air-conditioning, ventilation, fire protection, plumbing) and electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, earthing, and low-voltage installations).

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, PAM, JKR, etc.).

• Proficiency in Glodon costing software and MS Excel.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Must have own network of suppliers and vendors to source for competitive pricing.

• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
