The merger of Aviva Singapore and Singlife was announced in September 2020 and created one of the largest homegrown financial services companies in Singapore in a deal valued at S$3.2 billion. It was the largest insurance deal in Singapore at the time. Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S$4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/ Contribute to the technical delivery of assigned tasks / projects.
  • Building relationships with Product Owners, other Engineering team members and business users across the organization. Being able to engage and articulate the technical solution across team is critical to this role.
  • Contributes to the overall Policy Admin System architecture and design, providing best practice guidance and patterns.
  • Maintaining knowledge and understanding of the industry verticals, critical for implementation.
  • Maintaining a complete awareness of the Insurance/Financial Industries latest updates and developments allowing you to support/suggest appropriate solution for user needs

Experience

  • Deep understanding of Life Policy administration features and functionalities
  • 10+ years Insurance/Financial Industry experience with a minimum of 6 years on Life Asia/Integral Life Application development.
  • knowledge of Surrounding applications like underwriting engine, Front end / mobile applications, and workflow.
  • Good experience in omnichannel Integration
  • Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies.
  • Knowledge of integrating with other surrounding applications around core applications like Sales Portals, Workflow, and underwriting engines.
  • Solution-oriented and pragmatic mindset paired with strong communication skills.
  • Very good conceptual and analytical skills and a high motivation to define process automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional and collaborative team environment
  • Experience in application integration middleware (e.g., MuleSoft) is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Agile / Iterative delivery methodology.

Education

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related discipline (preferred)
  • Professional Certification(s): CRM, CCM, Cloud, Agile certification (Preferred)
