About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operation Manager to join our team at our facility in Sungai Petani, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimising our operational activities. As Operation Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing, transport and logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently, whilst meeting our quality standards, safety requirements, and business objectives. This role is fundamental to our success and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our operational performance.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage day-to-day operational activities across manufacturing, transport and logistics functions

2. Monitor operational efficiency and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs

3. Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and internal policies

4. Manage and supervise operational staff, providing leadership, training and performance management

5. Coordinate with other departments including procurement, quality assurance and finance to ensure seamless operations

6. Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular operational reports for senior management

7. Identify and resolve operational challenges and bottlenecks in a timely manner

8. Maintain inventory levels and manage logistics to ensure efficient supply chain operations

9. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a strong safety culture within the team

10. Liaise with customers, suppliers and external stakeholders to maintain strong operational relationships

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry

2. Proven track record of successfully managing operational teams and delivering results within fast-paced environments

3. Strong knowledge of operational processes, supply chain management and inventory control

4. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions

5. Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance requirements

6. Proficiency in using operational management systems and data analysis tools

7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with teams at all levels

8. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in staff supervision and development

9. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred

10. Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous

11. Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
