Job Purpose:
To ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems supporting the vertical farm’s infrastructure, equipment, and automation systems. The technician will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving efficiency, and ensuring the overall functionality of the farm’s operations.
Job Responsibilities
1. Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on farm equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults in equipment and machinery.
- Inspect and test electrical systems, control circuits, and safety devices to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
2. Systems Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor equipment performance via sensors, dashboards, and manual checks.
- Maintain accurate logs of maintenance schedules, service reports, and repair records.
- Report irregularities or potential risks to the Operations Manager immediately.
3. Operational Support
- Collaborate with farming and operations team to minimize disruption during repairs.
- Support installations and commissioning of new automation or farming systems.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance farm productivity and reliability.
Education & Experience
- Diploma or NITEC in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance.
Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of electrical circuits, PLCs, motors, and pumps.
- Basic understanding of sensors, IoT devices, and farming software is an advantage.

- Team player with the ability to work independently.
