We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical & Instrument Technician to join our E-Line Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing electrical and instrumentation systems used in oil and gas well operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance, Troubleshooting & Repair
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults using technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and testing equipment.
- Perform repairs and replacement of faulty components, including wiring, relays, connectors, circuit boards, and control systems.
- Maintain and service E-Line equipment, logging tools, perforating systems, and other downhole tools.
Installation & Calibration
- Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Perform calibration of sensors, transmitters, control valves, switches, and related instrumentation devices.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with operational, safety, and industry standards.
- Ensure all maintenance and installation activities comply with company procedures and contractual requirements.
Operational Support
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration reports, equipment inspections, and inventory documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers, operations personnel, and contractors to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
- Support operational readiness and equipment reliability for field activities.
Client & Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand operational requirements and provide technical support.
- Foster teamwork and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Assist in coaching and sharing technical knowledge with junior personnel and operation crews.
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least technical diploma, or degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant electrical or instrumentation certifications are an advantage.
- Experience in the oil & gas industry is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering-related software applications.
- Willingness to travel and work offshore/on-site as required.
