What You Will Do

At SPL, you are an integral part of our team - driving meaningful projects and witnessing the tangible difference your work makes. As an Engineer I, IT Infrastructure, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-availability network and system infrastructure that supports enterprise and operational technologies in SimplyGo. Ensure reliable connectivity for mission-critical systems such as ticketing and fare collection, payment gateways, and related backend systems. You will perform network and system modernization, cybersecurity, and automation initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory and Cyber Security standards.

Key Tasks You Will Be Involved In

Network Design, Deployment & Operations

• Manage and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN, data center, transport operations systems, and network infrastructure to ensure 24/7 availability across on-premises and cloud environments (Azure and AWS).
• Provide 24x7 operational support, including participation in an on-call rotation for network and cloud infrastructure incidents and maintenance activities.
• Design, implement, administer, and support network connectivity and security solutions, including Cisco switches and routers, Check Point and Fortinet firewalls/IPS, MPLS, FortiGate VPN, and Wireless LAN solutions.
• Deploy and manage network configurations across routers, firewalls, load balancers, and switches in on-premises, authority premises, and cloud environments.
• Configure and optimize load balancers (A10, Peplink, FortiGate-ADC) to support payment platforms and backend systems.
• Support real-time network systems interfacing with ticket offices, kiosk machines, partner systems, payment service providers, and regulatory authority systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network and system incidents, coordinating with vendors and contractors for technical support and hardware rectification.
• Monitor and maintain network security across all environments, ensuring timely firmware upgrades and security patch management.
• Conduct regular network health checks, performance tuning, and capacity planning to meet SLA requirements.
• Lead and support infrastructure upgrades, technology refresh initiatives, and expansion projects across corporate, ticketing, and site offices.
• Execute network-related change requests in accordance with change management processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders on new infrastructure deployments and system integrations.
• Manage procurement activities, including purchase requisitions for hardware, software, and services supporting projects and daily operations.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, IT inventory records, and operational procedures.

Security and Compliance

• Monitor and manage internal and external network security, working closely with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs).
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Implement and manage firewall policies, intrusion detection systems, and continuous vulnerability management practices.
• Support the implementation of security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the Information Security team.
• Develop and maintain IT policies, processes, and standards related to network security.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) exercises covering on-premises, cloud, and authority-hosted environments.

Cloud & Infrastructure Integration

• Design and support secure hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centers and public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GovCloud) using Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute, and Direct Connect.
• Deploy and manage cloud-native and third-party network security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (e.g., CloudGuard), within Azure and AWS environments.

This role might be for you if you have:

• Training in Computer Science, Information Technology of equivalent
• Experience managing enterprise and large-scale network and systems infrastructure, including mission-critical and real-time environments, with hands-on expertise in Cisco, Check Point, Fortinet, Arista, VMware ESXi, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS.
• Experience in 24×7 operational support and delivering infrastructure projects and initiatives.
• Prior experience managing networks that support mission-critical applications, real-time systems, and cloud-based environments.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including BGP, VLANs, and TCP/IP protocols.
• Hands-on expertise in routing and switching (Layer 2/Layer 3), Wireless LAN, and VPN technologies.
• Practical experience managing enterprise network and security platforms, including Cisco switches and routers, Arista Wireless Access Points and Controllers, Check Point and Fortinet Firewalls/IPS, and load balancers such as A10, Peplink, and FortiGate-ADC.
• Proficient in using network analyzers and packet sniffing tools (e.g., Wireshark, Ethereal, or equivalent) for troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS cloud networking components, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Networks (VNet), Amazon EC2, and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
