ABOUT THE JOB

To support the design, solution development, implementation and commissioning of electrical infrastructure systems for hyperscale and enterprise data centres, including AI-ready high-density compute environments.

This role provides strong exposure to mission-critical power architecture, hyperscale reliability standards, and real project site implementation experience, enabling accelerated development into a specialist Data Centre Electrical Engineer. Includes the adjacent stack of data centre infrastructure and functions to give a wholesome career journey.

The role provides strong exposure to real project site execution, commissioning participation, and hyperscale ecosystem engagement, enabling accelerated professional growth in mission-critical infrastructure engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

(i) Electrical Infrastructure Design Support

Assist in development of:

• MV and LV distribution system architecture
• Utility interface coordination (grid connection support)
• Standby generator system configuration
• UPS and battery system deployment strategies
• Busway and tap-off distribution systems
• Rack power architecture support (AI-ready deployments)
• Earthing and lightning protection systems
• Electrical single line diagrams (SLD)

Exposure includes Tier III / Tier IV equivalent redundancy architecture environments.

(ii) Mission Critical Power Solution Development

Support engineering teams in:

• Evaluating redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N, distributed redundant)
• Supporting hyperscale technical solution studies
• Participating in vendor technical engagement sessions
• Supporting UPS / generator / switchgear technical evaluation exercises
• Supporting high-density rack power deployment strategy discussions

Gain exposure to AI cluster power infrastructure environments.

(iii) Site Implementation & Commissioning Exposure

Participate in:

• Electrical installation verification activities
• Site coordination with contractors
• Switchgear installation inspections
• Busway installation verification
• UPS deployment monitoring support
• Generator integration readiness checks
• Commissioning preparation support
• Participation in Integrated Systems Testing (IST readiness stages)

This role provides real hyperscale site exposure, not desk-only engineering support.

(iv) Cross-Discipline Engineering Coordination

Work closely with:

• Mechanical engineering teams
• CSA engineering teams
• Commissioning agents
• Hyperscale operator representatives
• Equipment vendors and OEM specialists
• Project delivery stakeholders

Gain understanding of full mission-critical infrastructure lifecycle delivery.

(v) Exposure to Next-Generation Data Centre Power Architecture

Develop competency in:

• AI-ready rack power distribution strategies
• High-density GPU infrastructure environments
• Busway distribution architecture
• UPS battery technologies (including lithium-ion platforms)
• Reliability-driven infrastructure planning
• Energy efficiency optimization strategies

Position designed to grow engineers into future Data Centre Electrical Specialists.

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (recognized by Board of Engineers Malaysia preferred)

• 6 years experience in Electrical Engineering / Building Services / Industrial Power / Mission Critical Infrastructure environments.
