Keysight Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join Keysight’s Quantum Engineering Solutions (QES) organization, which is responsible for producing world-leading solutions in quantum technologies, including quantum computing, quantum communications and quantum sensing. As a V&V Engineer, you will be part of an R&D team and launch breakthrough software solutions to market. This hybrid role combines the expertise of Quality Assurance and Embedded Software Engineering to ensure the stability, performance, and quality of our products.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering, coupled with experience in software verification, incident management and embedded software development. We are seeking a proactive problem-solver who can enhance our processes and maintain reliable systems.

You will collaborate across a multidisciplinary engineering environment—including physicists, firmware engineers, frontend and backend developers—to implement intuitive user interfaces, data workflows, and backend services that power Keysight’s quantum control platform. Candidates with strong full-stick development and testing experience will help extend our platform reliability and user experience.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain test automation workflows, data visualization/analysis, instrument control, and system configuration.
• Develop system level test automation for quantum control system to enhance overall system test coverage
• Create and optimize automation frameworks for testing and infrastructure, while also contributing to codebase improvements and enhancements.
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, leveraging automated and manual testing to ensure software excellence and performance.
• Work closely with Software, Firmware and Hardware teams to ensure seamless deployments, high-quality software, and efficient issue resolution.
• Co-define V&V processes, document test frameworks and work with global stake holders to propagate them to global team.
• Collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams in Asia, Europe and US.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics or a related field with C#/C++ or python programming and debugging proficiency or equivalent 3-7 years job experience.
• Proven experience developing test and /or production software using C#, C++ or Python.
• Strong understanding of software performance fundamentals.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
• Experience with test automation frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation tasks.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve system issues related to hardware instrumentation and software interaction.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and to develop teamwork among individuals and over geographically disperse teams.
• High tolerance for ambiguity, results-oriented, meets timelines, handles pressure while working positively in a collaborative manner.
• Experience working with but not limited to Oscilloscope, AWG, Digitizer, and Downconverter.
• PXI hardware experience a plus
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the UI ↔ backend ↔ hardware boundary.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn proactively.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic R&D environment with evolving requirements.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with graphical workflows for scientific, engineering, or data acquisition systems.
• Experience with ARM processors and FPGAs.
• Experience with software profiling.
• Familiarity with Keysight instrumentation, PXI systems, or real-time measurement workflows.
• Understanding quantum computing or willingness to rapidly learn quantum concepts.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, UI automation frameworks, or end-to-end testing systems.
