Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Software Engineers.

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.

The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.

You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.

This role is for the Global Markets Programme - Risk Project implementation using Murex v3. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and requires interaction with users and stakeholders in Malaysia, Singapore & overseas..

Responsibilities:

1. Business & Functional Analysis

• Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.

• Conduct impact assessments and feasibility analysis for system changes.

• Prepare functional specifications and support solution design activities.

• Act as the liaison between business users and technical teams.

2. Risk & Data Analysis

• Analyse risk-related data and reporting requirements.

• Support data sourcing, transformation, and validation activities.

• Perform data reconciliation and root cause analysis for data discrepancies.

• Assist in delivering risk reporting and analytics solutions.

3. Hadoop Platform Support

• Work with Hadoop-based data platforms and large datasets.

• Support data extraction, validation, and reporting activities.

• Collaborate with development teams on Hadoop-related enhancements and issue resolution.

4. Database Analysis

• Work with SQL Server databases.

• Develop and execute SQL queries for data analysis and validation.

• Support data quality checks and reporting requirements.

5. Testing & Release Support

• Prepare test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements.

• Support SIT, UAT, and regression testing activities.

• Validate delivered solutions against functional requirements.

6. Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with Risk, Business, Development, and Infrastructure teams.

• Provide regular status updates and functional clarifications.

• Support issue resolution and change management processes.

Mandatory Skills Description:

• 3-5 years of experience as a System Analyst, Functional Analyst, or Business Analyst

• Experience working with:

- Hadoop

- SQL Server

• Strong SQL and data analysis skills

• Experience in requirements gathering, impact analysis, and documentation

• Knowledge of risk reporting, data analytics, or data management environments

• Experience supporting SIT/UAT activities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Strong analytical thinking and data interpretation abilities

• Ability to bridge business and technical teams
