Role Description
1. Design & Drafting
- Develop and prepare detailed shop drawings, erection drawings, and reinforcement detailing for precast concrete components (e.g., beams, columns, wall panels, slabs, staircases).
- Modify and optimize designs based on project requirements, production capabilities, and site constraints.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications
2. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with architects, consultants, and main contractors to resolve design discrepancies.
- Work closely with the production department to ensure designs are practical for manufacturing and installation.
- Attend design coordination meetings with stakeholders to address technical queries.
3. Technical Calculations & Analysis
- Perform structural calculations for load-bearing capacity, reinforcement requirements, and stability of precast elements.
- Evaluate alternative design solutions for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Use structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD) to verify designs.
4. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all designs comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company quality procedures.
- Review and approve final drawings before production release.
- Conduct site visits when necessary to verify installation and alignment with design intent.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements in design processes to enhance productivity and reduce errors.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, materials technology, and construction techniques.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in precast design or structural engineering.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Revit, and structural analysis software.
- Knowledge of relevant design codes (Eurocode, BS, AS, ACI, or local equivalents).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
