Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Engineer (Mechanical) role based in Kedah, Malaysia. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for industrial machinery, automation, and equipment. Day-to-day tasks include creating and updating CAD models and drawings, performing basic calculations and design validation, and preparing technical documentation and bills of materials. The role involves collaborating with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The engineer will also support R&D activities, assist with prototyping and testing, troubleshoot mechanical issues on the shop floor, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to design, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Machine Design and practical experience with mechanical components, mechanisms, and assemblies.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and 2D drafting, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience or aptitude in Project Management, including planning tasks, tracking progress, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to or interest in Research and Development (R&D), including prototyping, testing, and implementing design improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with machining, sheet metal, and fabrication processes; CNC manufacturing exposure is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, and to work accurately with measurements and tolerances.
- Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively on-site, and a proactive, safety-conscious mindset.
