Job Summary:
The De-kitting / Test Engineer handles the technical teardown, diagnostic testing, and system-level validation of decommissioned hardware.This role requires strict adherence to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to safely harvest components, run test scripts, and log functional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical De-kitting: Perform safe, organized removal of hardware components (including line cards, optics, cables, and PDUs) utilizing proper ESD handling protocols.
- Functional & System Testing: Execute component-level diagnostics and system-level testing using client-provided test scripts and hardware.
- Log & Data Capture: Capture diagnostic logs, validate pass/fail criteria, and meticulously document technical results in ProcureAnt or designated tools.
- Failure Analysis: Identify defective and/or missing components, isolate technical failures, and support root-cause documentation for failed units.
- Disposition Prep: Prepare functional and non-functional items for repackaging, ensuring accurate component tracking for final disposition.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- 2+ years of experience testing computer hardware, servers, or networking equipment.
- Strong understanding of ESD safety protocols and component-level handling.
