Job Description
- Lead the Test Development Engineering (TDE) team for enterprise servers, storage, and networking products
- Drive end-to-end NPI test development from concept to mass production readiness
- Define and implement test strategies with strong Design for Testability (DFT) focus
- Collaborate with customers, R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams for smooth product transfers
- Oversee test software and scripting development aligned with product requirements
- Review and enhance hardware designs for testability, including JTAG, debug access, and diagnostics
- Identify and mitigate testability risks early in product development cycles
- Approve test documentation such as specifications, validation reports, and work instructions
- Manage test solution costing, NRE activities, and infrastructure planning
- Develop scalable and standardised test platforms across product lines
- Support complex system debugging and technical issue resolution
- Improve test coverage, reduce cycle time, and optimise test costs
- Track and drive KPIs: FPY, yield, escape rate, utilisation, efficiency
- Lead failure analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Handle test equipment planning, qualification, maintenance, and lifecycle
- Support audits, product qualifications, and customer reviews
- Drive automation and data visibility initiatives
- Mentor and develop engineering team capability
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables
The Successful Applicant
A successful Test Development Manager / Senior Manager should have:
- Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 8 years' experience in hardware test development (servers, storage, networking, telecoms preferred)
- At least 3 years in a leadership or team management role
- Proven track record in NPI programmes and R&D-to-production transfer
- Strong understanding of server and networking architectures (CPU, memory, PCIe, storage, networking interfaces)
- Deep knowledge of DFT principles, JTAG, fault coverage, and manufacturing test methodologies
- Experience conducting DFT reviews during NPI phases
- Proficient in Linux systems and test environment troubleshooting
- Programming/scripting skills (Python, C/C++, Tcl/Tk, Java or equivalent)
- Experience in test automation, analytics, databases, and dashboarding
- Familiar with quality standards (ISO, IPC, IEEE)
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (DOE, SPC) and continuous improvement practices
- Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis abilities
- Results-driven with focus on quality, efficiency, and operational excellence
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across global teams
- Comfortable in fast-paced manufacturing environments
