Job Title: Cake Maker (Cream & Buttercream Cakes)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cake Maker to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing, frosting, decorating, and finishing cream and buttercream cakes in a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently under pressure, meet strict production timelines, and maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, fill, frost, and decorate cream and buttercream cakes according to company standards.
- Produce cakes in a timely manner while maintaining consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
- Follow recipes, production schedules, and customer specifications accurately.
- Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all cakes are presented attractively and meet quality control standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the work area in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and report ingredient or supply shortages.
- Assist with daily bakery production and support team members when required.
- Handle multiple orders simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Cake Maker, Pastry Assistant, Baker, or similar role.
- Strong skills in cream cake and buttercream cake preparation and decoration.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage high-volume production.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional bakery or pastry training is an advantage.
- Experience with custom cake decoration and piping techniques is preferred.
