The Executive, Business Development is a high-impact, results-driven role focused on expanding the company’s footprint within the frozen food and meat industry. This position requires a strategic "hunter" mindset to identify and secure new business opportunities while serving as a trusted advisor to existing key accounts. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, the successful candidate will bridge market intelligence with consultative selling to drive revenue growth, manage distributor/wholesaler relationships, and ensure the seamless delivery of premium food products across the Malaysian market.
Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets.
Account Management: Manage existing key customers while actively identifying and pursuing new prospective business opportunities to expand the client base.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with customers to ensure high satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new sales leads through proactive cold calling, professional networking, and targeted field visits.
Market Intelligence: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to adjust sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Product Advocacy: Present, promote, and sell products using in-depth knowledge of features, benefits, and applications.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed sales reports, volume forecasts, and performance analyses for management review.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience.
Strategic Participation: Contribute to the company’s broader business development initiatives and participate in long-term strategic planning.
Industry Representation: Represent the company at trade shows, industry exhibitions, and professional networking functions.
Leadership Support: Support the Head of Sales in driving overall sales strategies and participating in high-level planning discussions.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience, specifically within the frozen food industry. Deep familiarity with the frozen meat market, including current trends and key competitors, is essential.
Sales Skills: Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and closing abilities.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver professional presentations.
Attributes: Independent, responsible, results-driven, and highly self-motivated.
Resilience: Proven ability to manage a heavy workload and perform effectively under pressure.
Mobility: Possession of own transport and a willingness to travel as required for client visits and industry events.
