Are you passionate about information security, data protection, governance, risk, and compliance? BINTARA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Solutions: Information Security Intern to join our Technical Solutions team. This internship offers valuable exposure to information security management, risk assessment, security governance, compliance practices, and the protection of organisational information assets in a professional technology environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing and maintaining information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Support information security governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) activities.
• Assist in conducting security assessments, risk reviews, and gap analyses.
• Help monitor compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Support the maintenance of information security documentation, records, and reports.
• Assist in reviewing user access controls and information handling practices.
• Participate in security awareness and training initiatives for employees.
• Support internal audits and compliance assessments related to information security.
• Research emerging information security risks, threats, and best practices.
• Perform other duties and projects assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

Applicants must be currently pursuing or have recently completed a:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.

Knowledge and Technical Skills

• Basic understanding of information security principles and best practices.
• Familiar with risk management, compliance, and security governance concepts.
• Basic knowledge of information security frameworks and standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or similar frameworks is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of data protection, confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA Triad).
• Familiar with IT systems, networks, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Good documentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
