Database Administrator (ref:120)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor and optimize database performance and availability, ensuring service levels are met and implement improvements when needed.
• Manage database operations and governance, including configuration, permissions, hardening standards, naming standards, and documentation.
• Ensure service continuity, leading backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery planning.
• Lead database implementation and support application teams, reviewing database design and recommending improvements to data models.
• Establish and enforce database standards and procedures across implementations.
• Engage stakeholders and educate teams, explaining technical decisions and promoting best practices in coding and design.
• Develop team capability, mentoring junior DBAs, conducting training, and sharing knowledge across the organization.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience in database administration.
• Posses experience with either Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Experience in database migration projects.
• Specifically, migration from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle to PostgreSQL.
