Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based in Johor Baharu. The Pharmacist will dispense and verify medications, including oncology regimens, in accordance with prescriptions, established protocols, and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medication orders for accuracy and safety, preparing and checking chemotherapy and supportive medications, managing inventory, and ensuring proper storage of pharmaceuticals. The role involves providing medication counseling to patients and caregivers, offering drug information to the clinical team, and supporting therapeutic drug monitoring and pharmacovigilance activities. The Pharmacist will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, assist in developing and updating pharmacy policies, and collaborate with other departments to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for registration as a Pharmacist with the relevant national pharmacy board or council.
• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution; additional training or certification in oncology pharmacy is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, oncology medications, chemotherapy protocols, and supportive care therapies.
• Demonstrated ability to review prescriptions for accuracy, interactions, contraindications, and appropriate dosing.
• Experience with sterile compounding, handling of cytotoxic agents, and adherence to safety and aseptic techniques is highly preferred.
• Competence in medication reconciliation, patient counseling, and education on treatment regimens and side-effect management.
• Familiarity with hospital information systems, electronic prescribing, and pharmacy management software.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interact with diverse patients and caregivers.
