Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Building and Infrastructure Programme Centre, where you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to shape and enhance the capabilities of our defence facilities to support MINDEF/SAF’s operational needs.

The Role Will Require You To

  • Manage construction projects for MINDEF/SAF from planning to tendering and evaluation, site/construction management and transition to Operations & Support
  • Conduct feasibility and front-end studies and work out project plans, budgets and schedules
  • Prepare and evaluate invitations to quote and tender submissions to ensure objectivity in the selection process, as well as to ensure that selected solutions meet MINDEF/SAF’s needs and are within the approved budget, schedule and project deliverables
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure that proposed designs meet the project requirements
  • Conduct regular project meetings and reviews to monitor design development and site progress
  • Conduct inspection, testing and commissioning of the works on site to ensure that performance specifications are met
  • Monitor and track defects rectification during the Defects Liability Period and ensure that defects are rectified on time
  • Keep abreast of innovations in the building industry, as well as policies and governance updates relating to real estate and facilities maintenance management, build-environment management and workplace safety and health
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil & Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferably with at least 3 years of relevant experience in project management of construction projects
  • Good understanding of benchmarks, guidelines, statutory requirement and Singapore Standards/Code of Practice in relation to construction management would be an advantage
  • Preferably with knowledge and experience in Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Resourceful, good problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in a team
