They have an established presence in B2B scenting services, providing customised fragrances and professional scenting systems to hotels, retail malls, corporate offices, healthcare institutions, and other commercial environments.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead and grow the business in Malaysia, a provider of premium scent marketing, ambient fragrance solutions, and scenting systems for commercial environments.
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the business, including sales growth, operations, customer experience, profitability, and strategic market expansion. The role will focus on strengthening the company presence across hospitality, retail, commercial, healthcare, and institutional sectors while building a scalable platform for long-term growth in Malaysia and the wider region.
The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution and will work closely with the Group leadership team to drive business performance and expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the overall performance of business in Malaysia, including revenue growth, profitability, operations, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and execute business strategies aligned with company objectives and regional growth plans.
- Establish annual business plans, budgets, forecasts, and performance targets.
- Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all business functions.
- Provide regular business performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market share and grow revenue.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across hospitality, retail, healthcare, commercial, and institutional sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers including hotel operators, mall owners, property managers, developers, healthcare groups, and corporate clients.
- Lead major client presentations, proposals, negotiations, and contract discussions.
- Drive recurring revenue through long-term scenting contracts, maintenance agreements, and account expansion opportunities.
Client & Key Account Management
- Build strong long-term partnerships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective service delivery and account management.
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and contract renewals.
- Act as the senior point of contact for strategic accounts and major customer relationships.
Operations & Service Delivery
- Oversee daily business operations, including project implementation, installation scheduling, service delivery, and maintenance activities.
- Work closely with technical and operations teams to ensure efficient execution and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor service quality, operational efficiency, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement systems and processes that support scalability and operational excellence.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team across sales, operations, and customer support functions.
- Foster a performance-driven and customer-centric culture.
- Establish clear KPIs, accountability structures, and development plans for team members.
- Support talent acquisition and succession planning as the business grows.
Market Intelligence & Growth
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within scent marketing, customer experience, retail, hospitality, and commercial environments.
- Provide strategic insights on pricing, service offerings, market positioning, and growth initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new products, technologies, and services that enhance competitiveness.
- Support regional expansion and future growth initiatives where applicable.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in general management, commercial leadership, business development, or related leadership roles.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing overall business performance.
- Experience in hospitality, retail solutions, facilities services, premium consumer experiences, commercial services, or related B2B industries is highly preferred.
- Strong experience managing cross-functional teams across sales, operations, and customer service.
- Prior P&L management experience is highly desirable.
- Experience working in SMEs, entrepreneurial environments, or growth-stage businesses will be an advantage.
