About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Steam Engineer to operate and maintain natural gas and biomass boilers, ensuring a safe, stable, and continuous steam supply to support production operations. This role is critical in maintaining compliance, operational efficiency, and safety standards within the boiler house and requires working on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Boiler Operations & Monitoring

• Operate natural gas and biomass boilers within defined safe operating limits
• Ensure stable and continuous steam supply to meet production demands
• Monitor boiler parameters including pressure, temperature, water level, and fuel consumption
• Adjust boiler output in response to production requirements and load fluctuations
• Troubleshoot pressure and steam supply issues promptly

Maintenance & Compliance

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of boiler systems
• Support plant shutdown activities and statutory inspections
• Ensure full compliance with WSH, PPE, LOTO, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements
• Maintain safe and orderly boiler house conditions at all times

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of boiler parameters, steam output, and fuel usage
• Ensure all operational data is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
• Participate actively in audits, safety observations (SOR), and incident reporting

Coordination & Supervision

• Work closely with production teams to coordinate steam demand and supply
• Supervise and manage external contractors working in the boiler area

Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in food processing or a related industry
• Mandatory: Valid Steam Engineer Certificate (Grade 1 or Grade 2)
• Proven experience operating Natural Gas Steam Boilers (minimum 5 years)
• Experience handling Biomass Boilers is an added advantage
• Valid forklift driving license is a plus
• Willingness and ability to work 12-hour rotational shifts
