The Global Semiconductor Exchange Program (GSEP) – Analog Layout Engineer Apprenticeship Program is designed for students and graduates who aspire to build a career in analog IC layout engineering and semiconductor physical design.

Hosted at Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT), China, this program focuses on translating analog circuit designs into manufacturable chip layouts while ensuring performance, reliability, and design accuracy.

• IC layout fundamentals and design flow

• Matching techniques and layout symmetry

• Layout implementation for analog building blocks

• Simulation-based verification and analysis

• Semiconductor lab exposure and engineering environment

• International campus learning experience 

In the following 3 months, you'll gain hands-on industry experience through an On-the-Job Training (OJT) placement. 

Responsibilities

Participants will gain exposure to topics including:

• IC layout design for analog circuits

• Layout of OP Amp, CMP, LPF, OSC, and ESD structures

• Layout verification processes (DRC/LVS concepts)

• Parasitic extraction and post-layout analysis

• Supporting full-chip layout implementation

• Design debugging and optimization activities 

Who We're Looking For

• Fresh graduates or final-year students in:

- Electrical & Electronics Engineering

- Mechatronics Engineering

- Computer Engineering

- Biomedical Engineering

- Physics

- Electronic Science and Technology

- Communication Engineering

- Microelectronics Science and Engineering

- Electronic Information Science and Technology

- or other related disciplines

• Strong interest in semiconductor technology and Analog IC Design

• Basic understanding of circuit analysis and semiconductor fundamentals is advantageous

• Eagerness to learn through practical, hands-on engineering activities

• Willingness to participate in the overseas training and subsequent OJT program
