Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Designer role based in Batu Kawan. The Mechanical Designer is responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for custom automation equipment and systems. Daily tasks include creating detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, preparing engineering drawings and BOMs, and ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements. The role involves collaborating closely with project engineers, electrical and control teams, and manufacturing to refine designs, support assembly and commissioning, and resolve design issues. The Mechanical Designer also participates in design reviews, evaluates new materials and mechanisms, and supports continuous improvement of design standards and practices.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical design skills, including proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and experience creating detailed engineering drawings and assemblies.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including machine design, kinematics, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, welding).
• Experience in industrial automation or related fields, particularly in designing fixtures, tooling, and automated mechanisms for semiconductor, automotive, or electronics manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret and apply international standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications in mechanical designs.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to perform basic engineering calculations and design validations.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and work closely with production and commissioning personnel.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field; relevant industry experience in automation design is an advantage.
• Willingness to work on-site in Batu Kawan and support occasional extended hours during project milestones or equipment commissioning.
