Section Head – Database Administrator

Environment: Microsoft-focused (80%+)
Preferred Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to lead our database operations. As Section Head, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases, while driving innovation in database solutions across cloud and on-premise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.). Monitor performance, manage availability, and oversee disaster recovery, backup, and restore procedures.
• Data Security: Implement and enforce security protocols, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance through tuning and query optimization. Apply best practices for design and efficiency.
• Data Integrity: Maintain accuracy and reliability through regular validation checks and documentation.
• User Support: Provide technical support, collaborate with developers, and design database solutions.
• Project Management: Participate in IT projects, determine requirements, and design database solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Proven experience as a DBA with hands-on management of SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, PolarDB, MongoDB, etc.
• Strong knowledge of database structures, principles, and practices.
• Expertise in security, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Certifications: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Data Analyst Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate.
• Experience with cloud database services (Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, PolarDB).
• Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell) and automation tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, big data, and BI tools.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
