Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee construction activities for LTA infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements through effective collaboration with engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor construction activities to ensure progress aligns with the project schedule for LTA infrastructure works
- Plan and track site works according to the master programme and detailed work schedules to achieve project milestones
- Liaise with the Professional Engineer on temporary works and technical requirements to ensure compliance and safety
- Collaborate with consultants and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and maintain smooth site operations
- Conduct site inspections to uphold construction quality standards and promptly address engineering issues
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to optimize workflow and communication
- Apply problem-solving skills to manage site operations efficiently and maintain structured progress
- Direct heavy construction vehicles safely entering and exiting site gates to maintain smooth traffic flow
- Manage pedestrian and public traffic around the site to prevent conflicts with construction movements
- Deploy, inspect, and maintain temporary traffic control equipment such as cones, blinkers, safety barriers, and signage
- Ensure all on-site traffic controls comply strictly with approved Land Transport Authority (LTA) traffic diversion plans
- Communicate effectively via walkie-talkie with crane operators, site supervisors, and other traffic wardens to coordinate traffic
- Report traffic safety hazards, near-misses, or unauthorized parking around the site perimeter promptly to the Safety Officer
- Maintain physical fitness to stand for long periods outdoors under varying weather conditions
- Adapt to work schedules including 5.5 days per week and rotating or night shifts for road-work requirements
Required competencies and certifications
- Possess a valid Basic Traffic Controller (BTC) certificate accredited by MOM/LTA
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with diaphragm wall (D-wall), bored piling, or tunnelling works
- At least 3.4 years of relevant experience in construction projects involving LTA infrastructure works
- Minimum 1 year of experience working on Singapore construction sites or civil engineering projects is preferred
- Clear communication skills in English to coordinate site traffic effectively
