Job Title: Software Project Manager

Role Summary

My client provide solutions are designed to enhance operational efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide a seamless digital experience for both customers and internal users. We enable insurance operations through scalable, reliable, and continuously evolving software platforms managed under strong project management and delivery excellence.

Scope of Work

• Drive and deliver IT projects using Waterfall or Hybrid methodology

• Prepare and plan project scope, timeline, cost, and quality, and obtain approval before execution

• Develop and complete key project documentation (business case, project charter, project plan, test plan, lessons learned, etc.)

• Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and vendor partners (if applicable) throughout project lifecycle

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence decisions and drive outcomes

• Lead end-to-end project execution activities and ensure successful delivery of project outcomes

• Manage project risks, issues, conflicts, and stakeholder expectations, ensuring timely escalation and resolution

• Monitor and track project schedule and cost against baseline, and implement corrective/preventive actions

• Manage change requests through governance processes to control scope changes

• Develop and execute communication plans to ensure consistent stakeholder updates

• Provide regular project status reporting and progress updates

• Manage project handover activities to support/BIT teams to ensure smooth transition and closure

• Ensure compliance with GE Group IT Project Management Methodology

• Oversee planning and utilization of contract/augmented resources for project delivery

• Ensure compliance with business, regulatory, and IT risk requirements, including risk mitigation actions

• Identify and highlight risks, issues, and emerging industry/regulatory trends impacting delivery

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline

• PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager

• Strong knowledge of General Insurance core systems, front-end systems, and interfaces (mandatory)

• Knowledge of Malaysia General Insurance products and services (preferred)

• Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills (including senior management level)

• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

• Strong facilitation and conflict resolution abilities

• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Ability to lead, motivate, and coach cross-functional teams

• Strong IT governance and risk management mindset

• High integrity, accountability, and strong teamwork attitude

• Proactive, adaptable, and open to continuous improvement and change
