Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Naval Architect role based in Singapore. The Naval Architect will be responsible for developing vessel designs, performing hydrostatic and stability calculations, and supporting structural analysis for new builds and modifications. Daily tasks include preparing technical drawings and specifications, reviewing classification and regulatory requirements, and collaborating with marine engineers and project teams to resolve design issues. The role involves participating in design reviews, supporting model testing or simulations, and providing technical input during construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities. The Naval Architect will also contribute to documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement of design standards and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, with practical experience applying these disciplines to vessel or offshore structure design.
  • Proficiency in engineering calculations and structural analysis relevant to ship design, stability, strength, and safety assessments.
  • Familiarity with naval and maritime industry standards, classification society rules, and regulatory frameworks applicable to Navy and commercial vessels.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with CAD and naval architecture software (e.g., Rhino, AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, GHS, NAPA, or similar) is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and reports, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams on-site.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, resilience in handling complex technical challenges, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
