M.E.I. Consultants is seeking an experienced Planner to join our team on a contract basis in Melaka As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for our construction projects, ensuring timely progress and efficient resource planning. You will contribute to the successful delivery of our clients’ objectives by supporting effective project coordination and progress control.

What you'll be doing

(a) Develop a project master schedule per the proposal/project requirements in Primavera P6

(b) Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), project deliverables, required tasks & project milestones

(c) Manage project resource planning, resource & cost allocations, and activity sequencing

(d) Coordinate internal project team reviews, followed by approval and review by the client on the work schedules, progress measurements, and reporting systems

(e) Implement the work schedule and monitor the progress of the work in accordance to the schedule and produce tracking charts in daily/weekly/monthly reports

(f) Carry out Delay Tracking and assessments of Extensions of Time and the associated schedule impacts against the baseline;

(g) Identify, propose and develop mitigation plans and recovery schedules;

(h) Perform progress monitoring of specific projects regularly; and subsequently anticipate and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts;

(i) Perform Project CPM analysis and Project Resource/Cost analysis;

(j) Update project schedule to keep track of progress and any delay out of track to inform site PIC;

(k) Send out weekly and monthly progress report;

(l) Attend meeting with client;

(m) To verify progress percentage in schedule based on actual condition;

(n) Develop project control documents according to industry standards such as resources histogram,

schedules, reporting systems, material controls systems, etc;

(o) Ensure proper documentation & filing of progress records;

(p) Liaise with other relevant departments in a project to complete Project Control deliverables;

(q) Perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when directed by the Superior.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Planner or in a similar construction role
• One (1) vacancy available
• Immediate starters are highly preferred
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
