Platform (PaaS/CaaS) Infrastructure Lead

About the Role

Ascendion is hiring a Platform (PaaS/CaaS) Infrastructure Lead for one of our prestigious Government clients in Singapore.

As a Platform Infrastructure Lead, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and enhancing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Container-as-a-Service (CaaS) environments while ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence.

Job Highlights

Work with enterprise COTS platforms including MongoDB, Nginx, IBM MQ & MQTT

Drive Platform Lifecycle, Incident Management & Disaster Recovery

Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure and application teams

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of enterprise PaaS/CaaS platforms.
• Manage Kubernetes and container platform infrastructure.
• Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise COTS platforms including MongoDB, MSSQL, Nginx, Apache, IBM MQ, MQTT, and related services.
• Manage platform incidents, problem management, change requests, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Support platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, migrations, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with Application Teams and Authority Furnished Equipment (AFE) teams for system integration and issue resolution.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
• Ensure Linux OS hardening and compliance with enterprise security standards.
• Drive capacity planning, performance optimization, and platform reliability initiatives.
• Lead Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) exercises.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, architecture documents, and operational runbooks.

Required Skills

• 7–10 years of Infrastructure or Platform Engineering experience
• Strong experience administering Kubernetes in production environments
• Hands-on experience with Docker and/or Podman
• Strong Linux administration experience
• Experience managing enterprise COTS platforms such as:
• MongoDB
• MSSQL
• Nginx
• Apache
• IBM MQ
• MQTT
• Experience with platform monitoring tools such as:
• Grafana
• Prometheus
• ELK Stack
• eG Monitoring
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals including Load Balancers, Firewalls, DNS, and TCP/IP troubleshooting
• Experience performing OS Hardening using enterprise security baselines
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills
