About Gaonhae Taekwondo

Gaonhae Taekwondo is one of Singapore's leading Taekwondo academies, operating five branches with a strong reputation for excellence in martial arts education, leadership development, and student growth. We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our branches while developing our instructors and driving operational excellence.

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of all five local branches, ensuring consistent service quality, operational efficiency, instructor development, and business performance. Working closely with the Partners, this role provides strategic and operational leadership while maintaining the highest standards of teaching and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of all five branches.

• Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, procedures, and service standards.

• Monitor branch performance, student retention, enrolment, attendance, and customer satisfaction.

• Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.

• Coordinate branch schedules, staffing, equipment, and facility requirements.

Leadership & Staff Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Instructors, Instructors, and Junior Instructors.

• Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and professional development sessions.

• Foster a positive, disciplined, and high-performance working culture.

• Identify and develop future leaders within the organisation.

Business Management

• Work with the Partners to achieve business objectives and growth targets.

• Monitor branch budgets, operational costs, and profitability.

• Analyse business performance and recommend improvements.

• Assist in implementing new business initiatives and operational systems.

Programme & Quality Assurance

• Ensure teaching standards remain consistent across all branches.

• Support curriculum implementation and instructor competency.

• Maintain high standards of student safety, discipline, and customer service.

• Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and external organisations.

• Represent Gaonhae Taekwondo professionally at competitions, events, and meetings.

• Support marketing initiatives, enrolment activities, and community engagement.

Qualifications

Essential

• Kukkiwon 5th Dan or above.

• Degree in Business Management or an equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 5 years' management experience, preferably in education, sports, fitness, martial arts, or a multi-site service organisation.

• Demonstrated experience managing multiple teams or locations.

• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.

• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital business management systems.

Preferred

• Experience managing martial arts academies or sports organisations.

• Knowledge of budgeting, business planning, and operational improvement.

• Experience in staff training and leadership development.
