Responsibilities


Role Description As a Software Developer / Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain software tools and applications that support research on smart cooling and heating systems and HVAC&R control algorithms. Day-to-day tasks include implementing back-end services, building data processing pipelines, and creating interfaces that integrate control models, simulations, and machine learning algorithms with experimental and field data. You will collaborate with researchers to translate technical requirements into robust, scalable code, perform testing and debugging, and contribute to documentation and code reviews. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Singapore River, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, with the ability to design, implement, and maintain reliable software systems.
  • Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), including experience with at least one modern language commonly used for scientific or backend applications (e.g., Python, C++, Java).
  • Experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and integration with data analytics or simulation platforms.
  • Familiarity with control systems, data-driven modeling, or machine learning for engineering applications is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a research-oriented environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and translating theoretical concepts into practical software solutions.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage tasks independently in a hybrid work setting.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to document code and present technical results clearly.
