We are seeking a highly skilled Murex Consultant / Developer to join our Financial Services Advisory practice. In this role, you will not only deliver technical configurations on the MX.3 platform but also act as a trusted advisor to global banking and capital markets clients. You will bridge the gap between complex financial requirements and technology, helping clients optimize their trading, risk management, and post-trade processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Delivery: Configure, customize, and develop end-to-end solutions on the Murex MX.3 platform across specialized modules (e.g., MxML Exchange, Datamart, Flexibond, or MLC).
- Client Advisory: Collaborate directly with client stakeholders (Traders, Risk Managers, and Operations) to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical designs.
- Technical Integration: Design and build seamless interfaces, workflows, and automated reporting pipelines between Murex and external downstream/upstream systems.
- Consulting & Delivery: Participate in large-scale system migrations, platform upgrades, and post-implementation reviews while managing client expectations and delivery timelines.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Deliver L3-level technical support, optimize database performance (SQL/Oracle), and resolve critical environment or trade lifecycle issues.
Required Technical Skills
- Murex Expertise: Minimum of 3 to 6+ years of hands-on development experience on the Murex MX.3 platform.
- Core Modules: Deep technical knowledge in at least two of the following areas:
- MxML / Connectivity: Workflow configuration, XML, XSLT, and messaging queues (IBM MQ, ActiveMQ).
- Datamart / Reporting: SQL, PL/SQL, dynamic tables, Murex reporting architecture, and performance tuning.
- Front/Back Office: Trade booking templates, pricing environments, pre-trade/post-trade rules, or confirmation setups.
- Environment & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting and managing Murex environment architectures.
Consulting & Soft Skills
- Consulting Mindset: Proven experience working within a management consulting firm, professional services environment, or global system integrator.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical solutions to non-technical business stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and structural thinking capabilities to handle ambiguous client problems on tight schedules.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multicultural, and agile project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
- Murex formal certifications are a significant advantage.
- Prior experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure) or DevOps pipelines (Jenkins, Git) in a Murex context.
Pay: RM13,000.00 - RM25,000.00 per month
