Meet the Team

The Trading Technology Infrastructure team at Millennium is responsible for providing shared services to internal trading systems, including our strategic trading architecture. We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our global development team in the buildout of our real-time data platform and related infrastructure. This platform is critical for storing, enriching, and distributing high-quality data from multiple sources in real time to support a global order management system and other core trading services.

This role is based in Singapore and will work with teams locally in Singapore as well as the global team based in the United States. The position has a strong focus on software engineering and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices to ensure the reliability, observability, and operational excellence of data services, with escalation responsibilities during Asia hours.

What You'll Do

• Data Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain scalable real-time and batch data pipelines for reference data ingestion, processing, and distribution.
• Shared Data Services: Build and enhance shared data services that support mastering, validation, enrichment, and delivery of critical trading reference data.
• SRE & Reliability: Apply SRE principles (monitoring, alerting, capacity management, incident response, and post-incident reviews) to ensure high availability and reliability of data platforms.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders across trading systems (Singapore and US) to ensure seamless platform integration and reliable data flows.
• Escalation Support (Asia Hours): Serve as an escalation point for data platform and services during Asia trading hours, assisting with troubleshooting and remediation of production issues.
• AI-Enabled Data Quality: Use AI-driven or automated techniques to improve data validation, anomaly detection, metadata management, and operational efficiency.
• Continuous Improvement: Take ownership of tasks and proactively identify opportunities to improve the platform, development lifecycle, and infrastructure.
  
  

What You Bring

• Experience Level: ~3–5+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data platforms, or data integration.
• Trading Domain (Nice to Have but Not Mandatory): Exposure to reference data in the trading domain (e.g., user, instrument, and destination master data) or other financial data domains.
• Programming: Strong hands-on development skills in Python for building data pipelines and services.
• Data Engineering: Experience with building and operating real-time and/or batch data pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
• Database Knowledge: Proficient in database concepts across SQL and NoSQL technologies, with attention to data integrity, scalability, and performance.
• SRE Practices: Familiarity with monitoring/alerting, logging, incident management, and working with CI/CD pipelines in a production environment.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders across regions.
• Ownership Mindset: Self-starter and critical thinker who takes ownership of projects and suggests improvements for the broader platform and infrastructure.
