Software Engineer Intern — HeroVend

Location: Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
Work Arrangement: Hybrid — 2 days/week in office, 3 days remote
Working Days: 5 days/week

HeroVend is building the next generation of smart vending machines in Malaysia, combining hardware, software, payments, and cloud systems into one integrated platform.

We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern who wants to work on real production software, not just practice projects. This internship is designed for someone who is serious about engineering, product quality, and building software that real users interact with every day. Free snacks and drinks provided in the office!

What You Will Work On

As part of the HeroVend team, you will be involved in building software for real vending machine operations, including:

• Developing an Android-based payment system for vending machines
• Building and improving backend systems using Laravel
• Working on software that communicates with real hardware
• Creating clean, polished, and user-friendly interfaces
• Using modern AI tools such as Claude as part of the development workflow
• Learning about hardware-software integration and reverse engineering workflows

What You Will Learn

You will not be given random busywork. You will be guided to understand how real software products are planned, built, tested, and shipped.

You will gain hands-on experience in:

• Full-stack product development
• UI/UX design for real users
• Payment system workflows
• Hardware and software integration
• Production-ready coding practices
• Working in a small, fast-moving engineering team
